    A Closer Look at the Top Workers’ Comp Class Codes We Write: Restaurants

    AmTrust has a broad appetite for small business, with more than 350 eligible classes that we write for workers’ compensation coverage. Let’s further examine one of those many different classes: restaurants.



    We look at the story behind every account to try and understand the risk involved and will make exceptions in certain cases, but as a general rule:
    • Fewer than 75 employees per shift
    • Incidental delivery/off-premises catering, with applicable controls in place. Examples of these include:
      • MVR checks upon hire (and annually for drivers)
      • No delivery past a certain hour
      • Cash handling procedures for delivery employees
      • Ability to deny delivery to an unsafe location
    • New ventures acceptable with ownership experience in the field
